Glade Guard / Sister of Avelorn WiP

I've done some painting yesterday and would appreciate your opinion. Should I paint the cloak in red, green or grey? I think red would be the best choice.

Ich hab gestern ein wenig weitergemalt und wollte mal euren Rat. Soll ich den Umhang in Weinrot, Grün oder doch eher Grau/Braun bemalen? Persönlich tendiere ich zur roten Variante.

Oh and I've got myself lots of stuff to do some basing. You can't imagine how I look forward to use all of this. ^^ Besides the basing stuff I got an Windsor 7 series brush. I've read quite often how good this brushes are and can finally test them myself. Let's see if they're really as promising as others say. :)

Ach ja und meine Einkäufe sind da. Jede Menge Zeug um Bases zu verschönern. Ihr glaubt gar nicht wie sehr ich mich schon darauf freue die ganzen Dinge auf die Bases zu packen. ^^ Außerdem ist da auch ein Windsor 7 Pinsel dabei. Ich hab jetzt schon öfter gelesen dass die Pinsel klasse sein sollen. Ich bin mal gespannt ob sie halten was sie versprechen. :)

Warhammer Skirmish on Roundbases?

Rumors on Warseer hint that the 9th edition of Warhammer isn't based on whole armys anymore, instead warbands of different factions could battle for mission targets on the battlefield. Sounds like Infinity or perhaps 40k (though I haven't played it to be honest) in a fanatasy setting to me. I like the idea of having less miniatures with a more flexible movement, but I don't know if it will still feel like playing real Warhammer...

Auf Warseer sind gerade Gerüchte im Umlauf, dass die neunte Warhammer Edition nicht mehr auf Armeen basiert, sondern aus kleineren Einheiten die um Missionsziele auf dem Schlachtfeld kämpfen. Klingt für mich nach Infinity oder 40k (obwohl ich letzteres ehrlich gesagt nie gespielt habe) in dem bekannten Warhammer Setting. Ich finde die Idee reizvoll mit weniger Figuren und flexiblerer Bewegungsphase zu spielen, aber ich bin mir noch unsicher ob sich das dann immer noch wie klassisches Warhammer anfühlen würde...

Though I'm not sure if I should be excited or sad about the possible changes, I thought why not using the time left until a new system of GW might be released to build a little warband myself. The End Times brought face to some serious changes in the world of Warhammer. I still haven't read the books, but the summary I've seen, left me astonished. All elven races under the Eternitiy King Malekith in Athel Loren? What the hell?

Obwohl ich noch unschlüssig bin ob mich die Gerüchte froh oder traurig stimmen, habe ich mir gedacht, warum die Zeit bis zum potentiellen Release von GWs neuem System nicht nutzen und eine kleine Streitmacht aufbauen? Die End Times Reihe hat ja eine Menge am Hintergrund von Warhammer geändert. Ich hab mir die Bücher zwar nach wie vor nicht angesehen, aber die Zusammenfassung die ich letztens gelesen habe, hat mich gelinde gesagt verblüfft. Alle Elfen unter dem Ewigen König Malekith vereint? Was zur Hölle?

After taking a deep breathe I've figured this setting might be a nice chance to get myself some nice miniatures I'd love to have, but didn't know how to use them. Especially many of the new Wood Elf models are awesome, so I've decided to build a elven end times warband.

Nach einmal tief durchatmen kam mir dann aber eine schöne Idee, wie ich diesen eigenwilligen Hintergrund für mich nutzen könnte. Es gibt nämlich viele Elfenmodelle die ich total genial finde, bei denen ich aber nicht wüsste wozu ich sie kaufen sollte. Viele der neuen Waldelfen Minis finde ich einfach genial, daher hab ich beschlossen eine End Times Elfen Armee auf die Beine zu stellen.

Every army/warband/whatever needs a core. For my elfs I decided for some archer I could use as Glade Guard or as Sister of Avelorn. Therefor I took some of said sisters and gave them heads from the Glade Guard. Not very creative, but I like the looks of them. As for the bases I took a bet and made some round 25mm bases. Hopefully the rumors come true, otherwise I`ll have to build some new 20mm squarebases for my archers. :D

Jede Armee braucht einen Kern. Bei meinen Elfen soll dieser aus Bogenschützen bestehen, die wahlweise als Glade Guard oder Schwestern von Avelorn herhalten dürfen. Um beide entsprechend darzustellen, habe ich eine unglaublich kreative Lösung gefunden und den Schwestern einfach Kapuzenköfe verpasst. ^^ Eher simpel, aber mir gefällts. Bei den Bases hab ich mal auf die Gerüchte gesetzt und 25mm Rundbases verwendet. Hoffentlich bewahrheiten sich entsprechende Gerüchte, sonst ist halt umbasen angesagt. :D

Infinity Nomads Gecko WiP

Just some work in progress shots of my recent project. Still a lot to do, but I don't mind taking any time I need to finish this guy, since it will be a nice centerpiece of my nomads once finished. I'll try to keep you up to date with my "Golden Boy". :)

Ein paar Bilder meines aktuellen Projektes. Ich hab zwar noch viel zu tun, aber ich hab hier kein Zeitdruck und werde mir einfach die Zeit nehmen, die ich brauche um den Kerl anständig zu bemalen. Gerade weil er später sichelich ein toller Eyecatcher meiner Nomads Truppe werden wird. Ich werde versuchen euch so oft wie möglich mit Updates von meinem "Golden Boy" zu versorgen.

 

Krosmaster

Really enjoyed playing Krosmaster for the first time in month. I know the chibi-manga miniatures aren`t everyone’s taste, but I like them. Well of course this might be related to the fact that I played the mmorpg Dofus for many years and I appreciate seeing the classes I’ve known for so long inside the game as real miniatures now. My wife loves both games as well and its nice to have a common hobby both of us like to play. Although she doesn’t like my tactical gameplay. :P

One of this days I`d love to repaint one of this miniatures, but I think my beloved wife might have another opinion. ^^

War wirklich schön nach monatelanger Abstinenz gestern mal wieder Krosmaster zu spielen. Ich weiß dieser Chibi-Manga Stil liegt nicht jedem, aber ich find sie toll. Das liegt zwar sicher auch daran, dass ich das MMORPG Dofus jahrelang gespielt habe, dessen Klassen und Hintergrund die Basis für Krosmaster bilden. Die Figuren jetzt also statt virtuell als Miniaturen vor mir zu haben, ist schon ziemlich cool. Meine Frau liebt sowohl Dofus als auch Krosmaster und es ist schön da ein gemeinsames Hobby zu haben, auch wenn sie meine taktische Spielweise hasst. :P

Irgendwie reizt es mich mal eine der Figuren neu zu bemalen, auch wenn ich mir jetzt schon sicher bin, dass die Idee meiner besseren Hälfte sicherlich weniger gut gefällt.

Wie es Lupe Balboa geschafft hat aus einer Strafeinheit in eine Elitegruppierung wie den Vortex zu gelangen? Indem sie schlicht und ergreifend jede Scheiße überlebt hat, die ihr um die Ohren geflogen ist. Das ist ein Talent dass der Nomads Geheimdienst hoch genug schätzt, als dass er Lupe sogar erlaubt ihren illegalen Drakomon Pancho zu behalten.

Painted MAS building

Well, long time no see. I've been busy with other stuff and didn't paint a single miniature for month. At least I found some time recently and started painting a little MAS building. For the big areas I used some Montana spray cans which helped a lot. Since they`re quite cheap I'll surly buy some more of them to color up the rest of my terrain. I hope you like it.

Lange nichts von mir hören  lassen. Ich war mit vielen anderen Dingen beschäftigt und habe monatelang nichts bemalt. Nachdem ich letztens doch etwas Zeit gefunden habe, habe ich mich zunächst an einem MAS Gebäude versucht. Für alle größeren Flächen hab ich hier Montana Sprühdosen verwendet. Sehr hilfreich und günstig. Ich werde mir da sicher noch ein paar weitere Farben besorgen, um mein restliches Infinity Gelände aufzupeppen. Ich hoffe euch gefällts.

Dezember Update

Finished some more Nomads for my little warband. I think I need an Iguana sooner or later as a centerpiece. :D

Ein paar weitere Nomads für meine Truppe sind fertig geworden. Ich glaub so langsam brauch ich mal einen Iguana als Blickfang. :D

Nomads WiP

The last couple of days, I've been busy painting and tough I'm far from finishing them I'd like to share an up to date picture:

Die letzten Tage waren nicht unproduktiv, aber fertig bin ich noch lange nicht. Hier mal der aktuelle Zustand der Figuren:

 Furthermore I took to shots of my yellow nomads. The first one with my normal daylight lamp and the usual foto setting. The second was taken in a dark room using just two candles as light sources and a quite long exposure time. I love the second one, despite the paint job itself is less clear. But the cool atmosphere makes more than up for this.

Außerdem mal zwei Gruppenfotos der gelben Nomads. Nummer 1 mit normaler Beleuchtung in meinem Standard Fotosetting, Nummer 2 in einem dunklen Raum mit 2 Teelichtern als Lichtquellen und sehr langer Belichtungszeit. Man sieht zwar weniger von der eigentlichen Bemalung, aber dafür ist das Bild ne ganze Ecke stimmungsvoller.

Als letztes noch ein paar Fotos unseres letzten Infinity Spiels. Ich liebe das Gameplay nach wie vor und kann es kaum erwarten N3 auszuprobieren.

Mobile Brigada and more

Christmas time means stress and so I didn't find some free time to post this, but here you have my november shot. Not bad for such a slow painter as myself.

Die Weihnachtszeit ist traditionell auch immer ein wenig stressig, weshalb ich auch keine Zeit gefunden habe mein November Foto hier einzustellen. Für so einen langsamen Maler wie ich einer bin, ist die Ausbeute gar nicht mal schlecht.

As you can see on the picture, I've finished the Mobile Brigada miniature. I learned a lot about light reflexions and I'm so damn proud about this guy. I think its the best miniature I've painted so far. Of course there are some flaws here and there, but overall it sure looks great.

Wie ihr hier auf dem Foto sehen könnt, hab ich endlich den Mobile Brigada fertig gemacht. Ich hab dabei viel über Lichtreflexionen gelernt und bin verflucht stolz auf den Kerl. Ich glaube das ist die schönste Figur die ich bisher abgeliefert habe. Klar hat er hier und da kleinere Fehler, aber im Großen und Ganzen sieht er schon ziemlich cool aus.

So what's coming up next? Well, at the moment I'm working on some Nomads to reinforce my little group. Dunno how long it will take to finish this 5 fellows, but I'm eager to take a groupshoot of the whole group in the new colorsheme when I'm done.

Als nächstes geht's dann mit ein paar Nomads für meine kleine Truppe weiter. Ich hab keine Ahnung wie lang ich für die 5 Mann brauchen werde, aber ich freue mich jetzt schon auf ein Fotoshooting mit den anderen Nomads im neuen Farbschema wenn ich mal fertig bin.
