Tutorial: Containers for Infinity

You may already know me, but for those of you who don't know me yet allow me to introduce myself. Hi, my name is Carlos and I really like wargaming. Especially Warhammer and Infinty are the games of my choice. At the moment I'm very excited about the latter as you may have seen in my latest posts. You need a lot of terrain for this game and a few days ago I got inspired by a thread on the german Infinity community board O-12. To be honest I think his containers are way better then mine, but at least I might reach people who don't look into o-12 themselves.

Einige von euch kennen mich ja bereits. Für die die mich noch nicht kennen, ich heiße Carlos und bin schwer begeistert von Tabletop. Speziell Warhammer und Infinity haben es mir dabei angetan. Wie ihr den letzten Posts entnehmen könnt finde ich momentan vor allem letzteres klasse. Für Infinity braucht man vor allem jede Menge Gelände und vor ein paar Tagen wurde ich bei O-12 inspiriert. Um ehrlich zu sein gefallen mir seine Container deutlich besser, aber zumindest erreiche ich hier im Blog evtl. Leute die nicht auf O-12 reinschauen.


To make some of those containers yourself, you really don't need anything special. In fact you can buy them right out of the box. Well at least in germany. I don't know if you can find them on your local hardware store, but I think they're called junction box. They're cheap, have a suitable size and are easy to paint. Untreated they look like this:

Solche Container herzustellen ist kein Hexenwerk. Man findet sie in jedem Baumarkt in der Elektroabteilung unter dem Namen Wandauslassdosen. Meine sind aus dem Hagebaumarkt, waren ziemlich günstig, sind von der Größe her perfekt und leicht zu bemalen. Unbehandelt sehen sie dann so aus:

Now you should give them a basecoat in acolor of you're choice. Mine got one a beautiful grey sheme.

So, nun werden die Boxen farbig grundiert. Meine haben eine hübsche graue Grundierung erhalten.

Well and this is how they look painted. If you want, I'll describe how I painted them in detail next time. In fact it was just a grey primer, several washes and some painted damage and weathering. What do you think about this containers? I really like them and can't wait to use them in my next game.

Naja und so sehen die Container dann fertig bemalt aus. Auf Wunsch kann ich nächstes mal auch gern beschreiben wie ich bei der Bemalung vorgegangen bin. Aber im Grunde sind es nur eine farbige Grundierung, verschiedenfarbige Washes und etwas aufgemalte Schäden und Weathering. Was haltet ihr von den Containern? Mir gefallen sie ziemlich gut und ich freu mich schon sie demnächst mal zu benutzen.
